The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

God alone Can Deliver You from Enemy Traps' — Psalm 142:3-4 NLT ...

Psalm 142: I look to my left and right to see if there is anyone who will help, but there’s no one who takes notice of me. I have no hope of escape, and no one cares whether I live or die. So I cried out to you, Lord, my only hiding place. You’re all I have, my only hope in this life, my last chance for help.[1]

David was on the run from King Saul and was distraught because no one had helped him. The world we live in is not much different. We are in the midst of a pandemic but with social distancing, we each seem to be on our own.  The medical field seems to be limited and the government continues to put sanctions on us that may or may not be working. Those in the medical field are working under stressful conditions while others of us are left without job and income. We can be left feeling helpless during this pandemic.

But David knows the power of prayer. We can access the power of God even as we shelter at home. Pray for healing of the disease and of our nation. Pray that good will come of this time, that we will reprioritize what is really important in life.

James 5: 16 Confess and acknowledge how you have offended one another and then pray for one another to be instantly healed, for tremendous power is released through the passionate, heartfelt prayer of a godly believer![2]

Philippians 4:Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.

Psalm 107: 28 Then we cried out, “Lord, help us! Rescue us!” And he did! 29 God stilled the storm, calmed the waves, and he hushed the hurricane winds to only a whisper. 30 We were so relieved, so glad as he guided us safely to harbor in a quiet haven. 31 So lift your hands and give thanks to God for his marvelous kindness and for his miracles of mercy for those he loves![3]
