The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Sola Scriptura: Hebrews 11:29

We were at a crusade in an open-air stadium in Honduras. Thousands of people were listening as the speaker told the good news of Jesus. Just as he was about to call people to place their faith in Jesus, it began pouring rain. People ran for cover and began to leave. We needed the God of the impossible to change things.

Our speaker, led by the Holy Spirit, asked the people to join him as he prayed for the rain to stop. A warm wind swept through the stadium and the rain stopped like someone turned off a facet. It was a miracle that only God could do. Now the speaker was able to ask if the people wanted to place their faith in this powerful God. After seeing the miracle, many people came to faith and all praised this sovereign Lord.

The God of the Impossible Parts the Red Sea

The army of Egypt pursued Israel and pinned them against the Red Sea. There was no escape and the situation looked hopeless. Therefore, the people were in despair until God intervened with a great miracle.

Exodus 14:21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.[1] Can you imagine how their faith was strengthened by this miracle? Hebrews 11:29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.[2] The God of the impossible had changed the people’s mood from hopelessness to jubilant victory.

The God of the Impossible Wants to Change Your Life

Perhaps you need a miracle today. Perhaps there are problems in a relationship, a financial situation, or a health problem that only the Lord can fix. God is the God of the impossible and He works in His own way and time. The Lord’s miracles often come in packages that we don’t expect. For example, the Lord may heal your health problem supernaturally or through medical treatment.  Or the health problem may remain, but the Lord’s presence and peace is beyond anything you have experienced before. The Lord treats us as individuals and only He knows what is best for us in each situation.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that nothing is too hard for You. When I’m in a waiting season, help me to trust in You and believe that You can do what seems impossible in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.[3]
