Is the Lord calling you to move forward in the Kingdom of God? Does that leave you feeling inadequate? If you are, you are not alone. Remember faith in God empowers us. The Lord loves to use people who must depend on Him and that is what faith is all about.
When we place our faith in the Lord, we learn to depend on Him for strength, guidance, wisdom, and patience. As I depend on the Lord, it helps me grow in my relationship with Him. In addition, I must stay in constant communication with Him so He can guide me each step of the way.
Scripture tells us we may not always understand what God is trying to accomplish, but to simply trust that He knows best. Proverbs 3:5, Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. [1]
God Empowered Faithful People in the Bible
Hebrews eleven is the faith chapter of the Bible that gives us great insight into people the Lord empowered through faith. On their own they would never be able to overcome great obstacles, but with God’s help they could.
Hebrews 11:32It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets. 33 By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. [2]
God Empowers Faithful People Today
A friend was severely injured doing mechanical work when a large truck fell off the jack and crushed his mid-section severing several major arteries. It was only through God’s divine intervention that he lived, and his health was restored. God then called him to take a step of faith away from his career into fulltime ministry to others.
Because faith in God empowers us, this friend encourages people to take a step of faith. He gives them opportunities to allow the Lord to empower them to minister to others starting with prayer. The Lord wants to empower you right now to take a step of faith. Be bold and take a step of faith as you depend on God!
