Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Timothy Keller Quote: "Jesus's miracles are not just a ...

Miracles are an opportunity to tell about Jesus. I remember a mission trip in Central America where God began to heal people of a variety of different issues supernaturally. This gave us an opportunity to tell others about Jesus. In the poor areas of Central America, the health care is often poor or nonexistent. While health care was not be readily available, God’s healing through prayer was available.

Those who may have been skeptical about Jesus, saw the power of the Lord with their own eyes. Those whose hearts were opened received an even greater healing. As people repented of their sins they were forgiven. When they placed their faith in Jesus as their Savior, they had eternal life. Wow! What an amazing gift the Lord gave them. God had more for them.

The Lame Man’s Healing gave Peter an Opportunity to Tell Others About Jesus.

Acts 3:12 Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness? 13 For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of all our ancestors—who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this.

This is the same Jesus whom you handed over and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate’s decision to release him. 14 You rejected this holy, righteous one and instead demanded the release of a murderer. 15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. And we are witnesses of this fact! 16 “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes. [1]

Share What Jesus has Done for You

Be ready and willing to share your faith story to the people God will highlight. Tell them how you came to faith and what a difference it made. If time permits simply share verses and plant the seeds of faith. Other may want to argue over scripture but they can’t argue with your story.

John 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.[2] Relax and let the Holy Spirit lead you. You will be amazed how God can communicate through a willing heart.

You may be the first seed or the last seed of the Gospel that is planted in this person’s life, but every seed is important. Your story may reach out in a way others have not been able to reach this person.

Romans 10:14, “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? [3]You’ve been purposefully placed into the lives of your friends, family, or strangers. Don’t hesitate to tell them the good news about Jesus just like Peter did.
