Perhaps you think God only healed in Bible times or that you must need to somehow be extra special to be healed. As you surf the internet, you may see people that claimed to be healed. But if God still heals why doesn’t God heal everyone?
The Lord Worked through Peter to Heal a Man that was Born Lame
Acts 3:1Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. 2 As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. 4 Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!”
5 The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” 7 Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. 8 He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! [1]
God, in His infinite mercy, healed the man through Peter’s prayers. My brother-in-law died of cancer at age 45 and, as a believer in Jesus, was healed when he went to heaven. God heals in a variety of ways that don’t always align themselves with our prayers or desires. When it comes to healing, we simply must trust that Lord knows best, and His timing is always correct. That can be difficult for us as humans.
The Lord Still Heals Today Physically and Emotionally
As you take time to investigate God’s healing today, you will find a multitude of stories where God intervened and healed someone. A friend of mine was healed of a genetic lung problem. He was only in his late forties, and it was difficult for him to walk five feet. The person who prayed for him was a young girl who was only three. Wow! God can work through kids as well as adults.Jesus paid the price for our sin and made us worthy to be healed.
Prayer for Healing
Jesus, With just one touch from your Almighty creative hand, You have healed the sick and raised the dead. How amazing is Your Lordship over all the earth, Your redeeming love, and Your sacrifice. By your stripes, I ask for healing. Standing within your reign and rule I ask for restoration. May life and wellness grow in fullness until it overflows. Amen. [2]
