God Keeps His Promises

Taste and See - CraigThompson.org

Have you ever broken a promise or been let down when someone else did? The good news is God keeps His Promises. The Lord is perfect in every way and always keeps His promises. Psalm 119:140Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much. [1]

The Old Testament is filled with prophecies that one day the Lord would send a Savior to save mankind. Isaiah the prophet writes, Isaiah 7:14 All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). [2]

Jesus’ Birth Would fulfill the Lord’s Promises

Repeatedly, the prophets wrote prophecies about the coming of the Messiah who would save mankind. The angel Gabriel tells Mary she will give birth to the Messiah, which will fulfill the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah.

Luke 1:28 Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!” 29 Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. 30 “Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her, “for you have found favor with God! 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. 33 And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!” [3]
