God’s Word is Transforming

I remember listening to the entire New Testament and discovering that God’s word is transforming. The transformation of God’s word was like looking through glasses for the first time and seeing the physical world in a new way. I had been a believer my entire life, but going through the New Testament quickly unexpectedly changed my life. Immersing yourself in God’s word opens your eyes in a new way in your relationship with Jesus.

I met a man recently who was a drug addict until he went to a Christian rehabilitation facility where he received the right help. He indicated that the significant part of the right help was knowing Jesus as His Savior. Over the years, I have observed several people who came to faith as adults, and their whole lives began to change as the Lord molded them into different people. Isaiah 64:And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand. [1]

God’s Word is Supernatural

Straightforwardly, Paul wrote to Timothy and gave insight into the power and the supernatural ability of God’s word. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. [2] Although man wrote the Scriptures, it was the work of the Holy Spirit to inspire them in what to write.

Jesus also tells the importance of truth. John 17:17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.[3] The enemy lies to us, but God always speaks truth to us to guide us. This includes showing us if we are on the wrong path so we can repent and return to God. The Lord convicts us of sin, so we repent and turn back to the Lord to be forgiven. When we begin to look at conviction of sin as God’s intervention to lead us back to Him, we see our loving Father in a new way. As we spend time in the Lord’s word, He teaches us what is right so we stay on the right path the Lord has for us.

God’s Word Prepares Us

To make changes in life, we often need to undergo training or education to prepare us for the future. God’s word prepares us in many ways. 2 Timothy 3:17 God uses His word to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. [4] As believers in Jesus, we should not just study God’s word to increase our knowledge but to know how to build God’s Kingdom on this earth. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, God’s word prepares and equips people in a supernatural way for God’s plan for their lives.

A few years ago, a young lady went on a mission trip with us and became a believer a few months later. After finishing college, she went on an extended mission trip where she met and later married a man. Together, they started an orphanage for blind girls in Africa. God had a plan for her life, and through growing in the word, the Lord equipped her with the plans He had for her. God has a plan for your life and wants to equip you through His word to prepare you to fulfill His fantastic plan.
