The Lord called Jeremiah to be a prophet or a spokesperson to talk to His people. Jeremiah 1:The Lord gave me (Jeremiah) this message: “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” [1]

Did God know me before I was born like Jeremiah? As we turn to the book of Psalms chapter 139, we find our answer.  Psalm 139:13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! [2].

Are You Important Enough for God to Know You?

Sometimes we believe that only certain people in the world are important and I am not one of them. Yes, God knew all about Jeremiah the prophet, but what about me? As you read through this Psalm it shows how important you are to God. As you were growing in your mother’s womb God knew and loved you more than your mother or father. God has a plan for your life all put together before you are even born. An amazing plan that only God can unfold for you.

God also has a calling on your life. The first part of his call is for you to come to faith and believe in Jesus as your Savior. If you have not responded to urging of the Holy Spirit to place your faith in Jesus today is your day. Don’t wait! When we believe in Jesus, this changes us today and sets us on a path to heaven. To start, that is a great plan.

God Knows You are Unique

Others may discount us as unimportant, but not God. Take some time to reflect how much the Lord loves you. He loves you so much that He died for your sins so you could be called to faith. In all the history of the world there is no one just like you. You are a unique person called by God with a unique plan just for you. Wow! That is amazing to think about.

God says do this! Not if you do not think it is right, do something you think is right
