Did you know that God rewards the faithful? For those who have placed faith in Jesus as their Savior will be given the crown of life. (Ref. Revelation 2:10) There are many rewards the world can give people, but there is no comparison to the gift of eternal life in heaven for those who are faithful to Jesus.
Caleb was Rewarded for His Faithfulness
Caleb was one of the spies who had a good report after spying out the promised land. He believed God and urged his fellow Israelites to take the promised land because the Lord was with them. Caleb’s faithfulness did not go unnoticed especially by the Lord Himself. When the Israelites did take the promised land 40 years after they spied out the land Caleb was rewarded.
Joshua 14:9 So that day Moses solemnly promised Caleb, ‘The land of Canaan on which you were just walking will be your grant of land and that of your descendants forever, because you wholeheartedly followed the LORD my God.’[1]
We can Remain Faithful
We remain faithful by trusting the Lord who calls us to be faithful. The One who calls us to be faithful was the one who was faithful on our behalf. Jesus died for our sins, committed no wrong, knew no sin and was innocent of all transgression. He was faithful to every word and in every way to God the Father. And although He was perfect, He remained faithful unto death. He was obedient to death even death on the cross.
God Will Reward Your Faithfulness
The message is simple: We need to stay focused on serving Him in whatever capacity we’ve been called to do. Remember that we are part of God’s great plan. We simply should seek His Kingdom and seek to stay faithful, fulfilling His call. Be confident that He is watching over you. He will reward and protect you, God rewards the faithful! The Apostle Paul encourages us to be faithful and reminds us of its reward.
Col. 3:23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. 25 But if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites. [2]
