Come follow Jesus, and He will change your life. Would you like your life to be different? Would you like to live a more fulfilled life? I believe we all would like to live a satisfying and fulfilling life. To follow Jesus means leaving our old life behind for the adventure of a lifetime. This is an adventure the Lord planned for you long ago and one that will stretch you spiritually.
Our journey with the Lord may not be easy, but it will transform us and impact others. The Lord has a plan for your life. Psalm 139:16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. For God’s plan to unfold in our lives, we first need to place our faith in Jesus as our Savior.
Following Jesus Requires Leaving the Old Life Behind
My friend’s son got involved in drugs, destroying his life. Then something happened! God intervened and answered his parents’ prayers as their son placed his faith in Jesus. Over time he began to be transformed, including moving a long way from home to get away from people who were a bad influence. He is still following Jesus and growing in faith in ways he never thought were possible. The life that he left behind seems like a distant memory. It has not been easy, but as he looks back, he can see the hand of Jesus pulling him out of the muck and the mire.
Jesus Called the Young Man to Leave the Old Life Behind
Jesus called a wealthy young man to come and follow Him. The young man had come to a crossroads. What would he do? Mark 10:21 Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
God had a great plan for this man. It included faith in Jesus and spending time with Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:7For we live by believing and not by seeing. Jesus asked the young man to do the same thing He calls us to do. He calls us to walk by faith. The Bible does not say if this man changed his mind, but this story still speaks to us today. Will you let the Lord lead you? Will you let Him teach and transform you? If so, your life will never be the same. Come follow Jesus. To hear more, listen here:
