The message of life is the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. There is no more important message for people to hear than the message of life. It leads to faith in Christ. The Lord empowered the Apostles to tell others this message to change lives.
The good news of Jesus inspires hope and joy. I will never forget how the good news of Jesus changed a man’s life I ministered to who had terminal cancer. What started as a despairing situation due to his illness turned into a time of transformation and looking forward to eternity with Jesus. Through the message of life, the Lord would also touch other family members with the power of the Gospel.
The Message of Hope Can’t be Contained
The Apostles proclaimed the good news of Jesus, healed in His name, and performed many signs and wonders among the people. The message of life brought faith and transformation to many. But the high priest and his officials became jealous. While the Lord wants the good news of Jesus to be proclaimed our enemy, satan, does not wish anyone to be saved.
In a spiritual battle manifesting in the physical, the Apostles were persecuted for their faith. Acts 5:18 They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. 19 But an angel of the Lord came at night, opened the gates of the jail, and brought them out. Then he told them, 20 “Go to the Temple and give the people this message of life!” [1]
Although the Apostles found themselves in jail, the Lord sent an angel to free them so that they could continue to proclaim God’s Word to the people. How inspiring it must have been for the disciples to be freed from prison by an angel, who gave them further insight into the importance of the message of life.
Like the Apostles, We Need to Spread the Good News
Jesus commands us, as His believers, to spread the Good News of His salvation to others. Jesus’ commission to His disciples continues to be our commission. Matthew 28: 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” [2]
Like the Apostles, our love for others and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit motivate us to share the message of life. As Christians, we know that only through faith in Jesus can people be forgiven and have eternal life. As forgiven sinners, we are far from perfect, but the Lord wants to use you to share the message of life! What a fantastic privilege. To learn more about the message of life, listen here:
