Wow, that is an amazing thought. God can use me to bring the good news of Jesus to others and rescue them. The concept that God would trust me to reach another person is amazing. Yet, it is a special gift the Lord wants to give us. Each person who goes to heaven had a certain person or persons the Lord used to reach them. Paul writes in Romans 10:15, “And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”[1]
I remember a little first grader who brought her best friend to Vacation Bible School. This young lady didn’t know Jesus but soon became a believer. It wasn’t long and this little girl brought her mother to church and she also became a believer. It was like a heavenly chain reaction that started with a six-year-old.
Sometimes we think we have to have all kinds of training before we can share the good news of Jesus. But we only need to share the simple message that Jesus, the God of the universe died for your sins on the cross and rose again. Jesus is now calling you to take a step of faith and confess your sins to him. Once you have confessed your sins just ask Jesus to come into your heart. Yes, God wants you to communicate the simple message of the Gospel to others. Gospel just means good news.
In our story of Jonah, the Lord used this reluctant prophet to reach people who were wicked and far from God. 10 When God saw what they had done and how they had put a stop to their evil ways, he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened. [2]Jonah 3:10
Who do you know that is far from God? Pray and ask God to give you the words and the right timing to reach that person. How beautiful are your feet that bring good news!
