Ps. 56: 8 You’ve (the Lord) kept track of all my wandering and my weeping. You’ve stored my many tears in your bottle—not one will be lost. For they are all recorded in your book of remembrance.[1]

David is in trouble and instead of complaining, he writes a song to God. This helps him focus on God and what He can do. This psalm tells us of the character of God. There are many times when we are in trouble that we feel God is far away and isn’t paying attention. David counters this idea and tells us how God keeps our tears in bottle. God is not only paying attention to what is happening, He is concerned. God is so attentive that He keeps our tears in a bottle. What a beautiful picture!

If that is what God did for David, He continues to do that for us today. In these trying times, we can be assured that we have a God who is paying attention to our worries and concerns. He knows our griefs and keeps track of them.

Ps.56: 9 The very moment I call to you for a father’s help the tide of battle turns and my enemies flee. This one thing I know: God is on my side![2]
