In Galatians 3:7 the Apostle Paul writes, “The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God. [1] When we place our faith in Jesus God begins to shape and mold us like a sculptor. A sculptor hammers away at the stone to reveal a beautiful creation hidden inside. In the same way Jesus begins to transform our life as we place our faith in Him as our Savior and begin to grow in faith.
Paul also writes in Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. [2]
A sculptor’s work is not done in a day, and Jesus work in our life takes a lifetime. The day we take our last breath we are still being transformed by the Lord. We will never be fully transformed this side of eternity.
One of my friends from school came to faith as an older adult and the Lord began to show him a different way of life. What was important to him at one time was no longer. He became aware of what displeased the Lord and began the spiritual journey of moving in the Lord’s direction. The work of the Holy Spirit is to draw us to faith, convict us of our sin and lead us to ongoing repentance. (Repentance is turning away from our sin and turning toward God)
All of those who believe their names are written in the book of life. Revelation 21:27 -Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. [3]
What would you like the heavenly sculptor to change in your life? Remember God is only a prayer away to assist you on our faith journey.
