The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

1. Thessalonians 4:16 - Free Nature & Bible Desktop Background / Wallpaper

Jesus called Lazarus from the grave after he had been dead four days as recorded in John chapter 11. This was a foreshadow of the resurrection, both of Jesus and of you!

For Lazarus to come back to life, 37 trillion cells needed to come back to life and begin to function. Each cell in the human body is more complex than anything man has ever created, yet, the Lord called Lazarus and all of his cells were healed immediately! While Lazarus would die again someday, it foreshadows a day when you will be called from the grave. Unlike Lazarus you will never die again.

A Resurrection Foreshadowing

John 11:38 Jesus was still angry as he arrived at the tomb, a cave with a stone rolled across its entrance. “Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested, “Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible.”

40 Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” 41 So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. 42 You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me.” 43 Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” [1]

A Foreshadow of our Resurrection

Someday the Lord will call each of us from the grave. 1 Thess. 4:16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.[2]

When you are called from the grave you will have a new body much different than one you have now. The Lord will give you a new body! 2 Cor. 5:1For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.[3]

Be encouraged as the Lord has amazing things in store for those who believe in Him as their Lord and Savior!
