The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Will you follow Jesus? For many who are reading this, the Lord is talking to you right now! Will you let Jesus transform your life? Will you let the Good Shepherd lead you by His outstretched hand? If you do, you will never regret taking this step of faith.

Jesus called out to Peter, Andrew, James, and John to follow Him, and they quickly obeyed. Their lives would never be the same. Your life will never be the same either! Mark 1:17 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” 18 And they left their nets at once and followed him. [1]

Following Jesus Changes How You See Others

As I began to grow in faith, I noticed people around me differently. They had not changed, but I had. I started to see people who needed prayer. Sometimes people may not even know you are praying for them, but God does. As you listen to the Holy Spirit, the Lord gives you things to pray about for that person or family.

The Apostle Paul writes about the fruits of the Spirit. This fruit is a result of faith that comes from believing in Jesus. Think about how these fruits of the Spirit affect your interaction with others. Galatians 5:22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! [2]

Following Jesus Changes Your Perspective

Andrew, Peter, James, and John were fishermen, and yet when they met Jesus, He called them to drop what they were doing and follow Him. Up to this point, all they knew was fishing, but now the Lord would teach them how to fish for people. Being a fisherman was essential to support their family, but now the Lord called them to fish for souls. Instead of pulling fish into the boat, they would begin to pull the unsaved into the boat of salvation.

Think about how the Lord changed their perspective on what was important in life. Earning a living is one thing, but saving souls is truly a gift. Will you let the Lord change your perspective?

Following Jesus Gives Us Direction

Many people wander through life and never get on track with God’s plan. Perhaps you are there today. When we follow Jesus, He begins to guide us through His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit. Psalm 119:105Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” [3] Will you follow Jesus? To find out more, listen here:
