The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Tell what Jesus had done! What has Jesus done in your life? Have you thought about telling a short testimony of how the Lord has transformed you? Your testimony can be used to tell others about Jesus. What was your life before you came to faith? What is your life like now?

Perhaps you came to faith as a child and don’t remember not knowing Jesus. That may be true, but how did the Lord transform you along the journey? I used to have a short temper, but as I prayed daily for years for the Lord to change me, and He did. As people, we are always a work in progress, and we never arrive this side of heaven. No matter who we are, the Lord wants to call us to faith and continually transform us.

The Power of Your Testimony

Jesus transformed the demon-possessed man as He delivered him from many demons. Jesus now had a unique plan for him that could change the lives of others. Mark 5: 18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. 19 But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” 20 So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them. [1]

Notice the man did not have to undergo training, but Jesus commissioned him to tell of his transformed life. This is the same for you. Your testimony is powerful. You don’t have to go through training to tell others how Jesus is working in your life.

Putting Our Faith into Action

The demon-possessed man was set free from the unclean spirits and now has a powerful testimony of the grace, mercy, power, and authority of Jesus. Jesus told him to go and tell others what Jesus has done, and he did. He made himself available. He would be an evangelist in ten towns of the region and reach people for Jesus.

A man satan tried to destroy was now pushing back the Kingdom of darkness with a powerful testimony. The people of the area were very familiar with how he used to be. Can you imagine how many people he touched with the good news of Jesus in his lifetime? No one is ever beyond the reach of the loving arms of Jesus.

Prayerfully consider with who you can share your testimony. It could be a friend, a relative, a co-worker, a neighbor, or even a stranger. As we seek the Lord, He will guide and direct us by the Holy Spirit to set up divine appointments. Paul experienced this as he told others about Jesus. 1 Corinthians 3:6I (Paul) planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.[2]
