No one stops God’s plans. This is comfort for every faithful believer. We live in turbulent times in world history, yet God’s plans will not be put on hold or stopped. Praise the Lord! God’s sovereignty gives me peace and encouragement that God will always prevail.
In addition, the Lord uses each person of faith to fulfill His goals and grow His Kingdom. How does the Lord want to use you to build His Kingdom? It is a beautiful thought that you are part of God’s plan!
Throughout history, satan has tried to thwart God’s plans as he worked through demonic beings and humanity, but to no avail. Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness soon after His baptism, but the Lord prevailed. As Jesus went about His ministry, satan was always in the background, working against Him, including using the disciple Judas.
Satan Could Not Stop the Lamb of God
John the Baptist called Jesus the Lamb of God in John 1:29. The Lamb of God in this context would indicate a sacrifice. In addition, the Lord told the disciples several times he would go to Jerusalem and die and rise to life. Although the Lord’s plan seemed clear, the disciples did not understand.
Satan also did not understand God’s plan and thought he had won a great victory at Jesus’ crucifixion. He found out later that Jesus defeated him when He gave His life as a sacrifice for humankind. Satan, nor any other being, would stop God’s plans.
We don’t know what Judas was trying to accomplish by betraying Jesus, but it did not stop the Lord’s plans. Mark 14:17 In the evening Jesus arrived with the Twelve. 18 As they were at the table eating, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, one of you eating with me here will betray me.” [1]
God’s Plans Include Rescuing You
The Father sent His Son into this world to rescue you! That was His plan. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, the Lord made way for you to become a person of faith. John 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.[2] On the cross, Jesus defeated sin, death, and the devil. It was a great victory!
The Lord is calling you today if you have not placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He is a God of intervention and desires every person to come to salvation. This is His desire for you, and you have free will to choose the gift of faith.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I’ve kept you out of my life for too long. I know that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are valid. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.[3]
