The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

God loves the unloved, giving insight into the Lord and how He sees you. The Lord tells about His great love and sacrifice for you. John 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. [1]

You may have grown up in a home where you did not feel loved or may be in an unloving marriage. It is not a pleasant experience to be in a relationship where you don’t feel loved. As people, we long to be loved, especially by our parents, grandparents, and our spouse.

All relationships would be loving in a perfect world, but that is not our world. You may have a loving spouse, but your relationship with your parents may still bother you because of that lack of love. My father was such a person, but God mended that scar and enabled him to be a loving parent and spouse.

Leah Felt Unloved

Jacob wanted Rachel to be his wife, but Laban tricked him into marrying Leah first. A week later, Jacob married Rachel after promising to work another seven years for Laban. Leah’s father’s flawed character and manipulation resulted in her entering a marriage destined for trouble. Genesis 29:31 When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, he enabled her to have children.[2]

God loved Leah and gave her a special gift of a boy. Genesis 29:32She named him Reuben, for she said, “The Lord has noticed my misery, and now my husband will love me.” [3] Although Leah’s circumstances did not change, she realized the Lord had seen her misery and blessed her with a baby boy.

The Lord Brings Healing to the Unloved

The God who created all that you see, hear, and touch loves you personally with unconditional love. Sometimes it is just good to meditate on how much the Lord loves us. The Lord loves us and wants to have a relationship with us and help us fulfill His plan for our life.

You may have regrets and are running from God, but He still loves you and wants a personal relationship with you. God’s word tells us that He loves us no matter how messed up our lives are. 1 John 3:1See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.[4]
