The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

The idea that God wants to meet with us is a beautiful true thought. God can meet with us any time we desire. He is never too busy, and we don’t need an appointment. He is always there to hear our prayers and powerfully pursues us.

Revelation 3:20Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.[1] God is knocking on the door of your heart right now. The Lord declares His love for you with every beautiful sunrise, breathtaking star in the sky, and gentle breeze across your face.

God Pursues Us

God pursues us in any and every way He can. We see this as we read stories in Bible on how He seeks people and even sinners like us. Paul was off God’s plan for his life and persecuted believers in Jesus, yet the Lord pursued Him. Peter did not think he was good enough, yet God sought him. Jonah decided to head in the opposite direction, but God followed him. As you read this, God is pursuing you.

In our story of Moses and the Hebrews, the Lord wanted to meet with them. Ex.19:9Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will come to you in a thick cloud, Moses, so the people themselves can hear me when I speak with you. Then they will always trust you.” Moses told the Lord what the people had said. 10 Then the Lord told Moses, “Go down and prepare the people for my arrival. Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing. 11 Be sure they are ready on the third day, for on that day, the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai as all the people watch.[2]  Can you imagine the people’s excitement as they looked forward to their meeting with God?

God Wants a Relationship with You

The greatest desire of God’s heart is for a relationship with His people. When we take time to notice His constant pursuit of us, we naturally begin to center our lives around meeting with our heavenly Father. For some of us, this may happen when we are young; for me, it took a long time into adulthood. Do you wish to meet with God?

The Creator of the universe profoundly longs to meet with you and me consistently. God, who is almighty, all-knowing, and filled with grace, is the fulfillment of perfect love. He longs to be known by you because He loves you. God made us to be known and to know Him. He created us to walk with Him every moment of every day. It’s not that we “should” center our lives around meeting with God; we were created to do so.
