The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

God is faithful to His plan for humanity, which is a reason for praise. Although man is sinful and often fails, the Lord remains faithful as His plan comes about. Others may let us down, but the Lord never will and always keeps His promises.

God is all-knowing, and when Adam and Eve fell into sin, it did not catch Him off guard. God’s plan for humankind was not for them to fall into sin, but God would work through this and still fulfill his purpose for humanity. God sent His Son into the world in His perfect timing to pay the price for man’s sins as part of the plan.

As the Old Testament unfolds, it points to Jesus, who would one day come to rescue humanity from their sin. Zechariah 9:9 points to a humble Savior. Jesus fulfilled this prophecy as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

Jesus Fulfilled God’s Plan as He Entered Jerusalem

In God’s timing, Jesus entered Jerusalem, where He gave His life on the cross for our sins. Although the enemy always works against the Lord, his efforts are futile. Jesus knew the cross laid ahead of Him as He entered Jerusalem, but His love for you and me would propel Him forward.

Matthew 21:1 As Jesus and the disciples approached Jerusalem, they came to the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of them on ahead. “Go into the village over there,” he said. “As soon as you enter it, you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will immediately let you take them.” This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said, “Tell the people of Jerusalem, ‘Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.’[1]

God is Faithful to the Plan for Your Life

Sometimes in life, we fail and take the wrong path, but our loving Lord continually pursues and redirects us like a GPS. Where would we be without such a good shepherd? The Lord has a plan for your life that gives us purpose and meaning. Psalm 139:16 tells us that God has each day of our lives planned out before birth.

The Lord placed you on this earth at the right time to fulfill His purposes, and He is faithful to help us accomplish that. No matter how far we have drifted away from the Lord, no one is beyond His reach. The thief on the cross came to faith on his last day on earth. As you follow the Good Shepherd, you will be amazed as God’s plan for your life unfolds.
