Luke 1:36 What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month. [1] Jesus would later speak to His disciples about how “nothing is impossible with God” regarding people being saved. Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.” [2]
With God, the Impossible is Possible
In this ungodly world, change can seem impossible. The truth is that change is possible with God. How often have you searched for solutions to your problems without asking God’s help? There is an important phrase in the Bible, “But God.”
God allows times of difficulty to affect our lives to help us grow in faith. Sometimes, we must depend on God because He is the only answer. When our faith is stretched, we see things in ways we did not before. Trusting Him when our world crashes often seems complicated, but we must.
Sometimes, learning to trust God is a long journey that can take years, not minutes. We must learn to take our eyes off the circumstances and look to Jesus. Sometimes, we need to cry out to the Lord to help us do that because we don’t have the strength to look up. When we do, there comes a quiet calmness when we focus on Jesus.
The God of the Impossible
Look at the parting of the Red Sea, the fiery furnace of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the raising of Lazarus, and all the other miracles recorded in the Bible. If He could do all of this, He can certainly handle any of our problems. If you are facing what seems impossible, give it to the Lord and trust Him to see you through it. Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.[3]To hear how nothing is impossible with God, listen here:
