The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

The Lord knows all about us in a good way. A day does not go by when we are not in the Lord’s heart every moment. He knows the struggles we are facing, our joys, our desires, and when we sin. The Lord also knows His plans for us and how He will work in our lives to help us unfold them. Proverbs 5:21, “For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.[1]

When we pray, the Lord has all the time we need to listen to us, like we are the only person in all creation. David was thankful the Lord knew all about him. Psalm 139:1 O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. [2] When we read God’s word, the Holy Spirit opens our hearts to its meaning and gives us insight only God can provide.

Nathanael Was Surprised Jesus Knew Him

Philip was so excited after meeting Jesus he soon sought out Nathanael to tell him about Him. John 1:45 His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” 46 “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” “Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied. 47 As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of complete integrity.”

48 “How do you know about me?” Nathanael asked. Jesus replied, “I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you.” 49 Then Nathanael exclaimed, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God—the King of Israel!” [3]

Jesus’ insight into Nathanael changed his view of Jesus and was the divine intervention he needed as he became a follower of Jesus. For Nathanael, this crossroads in his life changed him forever. Our lives change when we realize how much Jesus cares and helps us along our faith journey.

God Sees Us in the Crowd and Knows Our Name

An estimated eight billion people are on the earth, yet the Lord knows your name and how many hairs are on your head. Psalm 139:13 You (Lord) made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.”[4] The Lord also knew we would never be good enough or holy enough to come to him, so he sent Jesus into the world.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins and became the bridge between heaven and earth. God has a plan for our life that He unfolds as we seek Him and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit. God has created you with unique gifts given to bless others. The Lord called Nathanael to be an apostle because this was God’s plan. As a disciple of Jesus, he would bless others. Jesus calls us to follow Him and will give us surprising blessings as we do. To hear how the Lord knows all about us, listen here:
