The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Ephesians 6:10-11

Have you noticed as you listen to the news there seems to be a great spiritual battle going on between good and evil? As we open the first pages of the book of Genesis we see that man fell into sin after being tempted by the serpent that we call the devil or satan. Since that time, man has found himself involved in an invisible war. A war that is just as real as ones fought in the physical realm.

It says in Ephesians 6:10-11. “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

Yesterday we looked at verse 10 and today we want to look at verse 11. Our enemy looks to destroy us by using strategies or schemes against us. He has a plan. He comes to steal, kill and destroy us according to John 10:10. But in the midst of this battle, the Lord does not leave us defenseless. He calls us to be strong in Him and to put on all of God’s armor. When we put on all of God’s armor it enables us to stand up against the strategies the enemy uses against us.

Have you put on the full armor of God today? No soldier would go into combat without their armor. Most of my life I thought I was on a playground not realizing the spiritual battle I was in. Maybe the Lord is awakening you today to the need of putting on all of God’s armor.

What is the armor of God? The belt of truth. The breastplate of righteousness. Shoes of the Gospel. Shield of Faith. Helmet of Salvation. Sword of the Spirit. Praying in the Spirit.

Today, don’t forget to buckle up with all of God’s armor. In the coming days we will continue to explore ways to win the spiritual battle.
