The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Ephesians 6:10-13

Have you ever heard of the expression, “The power behind the throne?” This means that the true person who has power is not the person that looks to be in power, but someone else behind them pulling the strings. Today we want to better understand who we are fighting against. The Lord makes it clear in Ephesians 6 that we are not battling against other people.

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Ephesians 6:10-13.

The Apostle Paul writes that we are in a battle and there are demonic forces fighting against us that are in the heavenly places. On the cross our Lord Jesus defeated sin, death and the devil. As believers we fight from victory empowered by our Lord Jesus Christ.

You are in a spiritual battle against demonic invisible forces. In our reading today, in Ephesians, the Apostle Paul enables us to realize we are not fighting people, but forces in the heavenly realms.

The word today is resist the enemy schemes. To resist the enemy you must put on all the armor of God. Be in prayer, in the word, walk in faith, and rely on the Holy Spirit to lead you to victory.

10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
