Have you ever asked the Lord to change something you knew was not helpful in your life? A part of my life that was not helpful was having temper at times. Each time I lost my temper I felt disappointed in myself. There came a time in my life instead of feeling just disappointed, I began to pray about being more patient each day. This went on for several years and over time I did change and began to react to situations in a much more patient way.
In his “Journey with Guest” interview, Mike Bradley shares that he experienced a similar problem with anger. The Lord Jesus changed him just as He changed me. This is important to note because the Lord is in the transformation business. Maybe you are dealing with part of your life that you know needs to change, but you don’t know how. Let the Lord lead you. Seek the Lord’s wisdom in prayer and through His word.
The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 12:2 – Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. [1]
God’s word is so transformational that overtime as we let His word soak into us and allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, we become different people.
