The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Phil. 47

Are you seeking peace from God to comfort you as you journey through life? Life is a journey and there are many ups and downs with challenges we often don’t expect or desire. But as we journey, our Lord wants to give us peace as we come to Him with all of our difficulties.

Jesus tell us in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” [1]

Are you weary today? Is your burden overwhelming you? If so, Jesus is telling you to give your burden to Him and let Him carry it for you. Our Lord Jesus is like a wonderful parent who wants to help us through life and lift us out of the mud and the mire. The hard part is we have to let Him take our burden. Why is that so difficult? If you are like me, it is hard to humble yourself and ask for help. The good news is when we do, the Lord is always there to lift us up.

In our “Journey with Guests” interview, Mike Bradley found himself mired in the mud of life. When he realized he could not go on much longer, he gave his problems to the Lord. Although it was not easy the Lord pulled him up and set him on dry ground in a spiritual sense. He began to experience the peace of the Lord.

The Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 4:7 – Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. [2]
