In his “Journey with Guests” interview, Mike Bradley commented that before he knew Jesus, life was all about him. Like many of us, we grow up self-absorbed with little thought to God’s plan for our life. Maybe you were that way at some point in your life. Maybe the Lord is calling you out of that way of life today. When Mike became a follower of Jesus, through a time of study of the word of God, the Holy Spirit revealed something to him. God had a plan for his life.
The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 2:8-10 –God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. [1]
It is an amazing to think about how the Lord has saved us through grace. Grace is God’s undeserved love and a gift from God. This gift was possible because Jesus gave His life for you and me on the cross. All of our sins were paid for in full. What did God save us to do? We weren’t saved to live for ourselves. This is the message of the world, but when we follow that advice, we become self-centered and miserable. We are the most satisfied in our journey when we truly seek and embrace God’s plan for our life.
What is God’s plan for your life? You are so important to God that He planned your life before you took a breath of air. The Lord has the most awesome plans for our lives that we could ever imagine. These plans will change our lives and impact those around us in so many wonderful ways.
Take a step of faith today and seek the Lord for his plan for your life! You will be surprised how exciting and fulfilling it will be.
