The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

December 5, 2014 - Bible verse of the day - Romans 1:20 ...

Throughout nature and the Scriptures God reveals Himself. The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 1:20, “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” [1]

Why is this so important?

For one, God wants us to be in a relationship with Him and wants us to know that. Nature alone screams at us there is a God. The Lord sends people out each day all over the world to communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul writes about this in Romans 10:15, “And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news![2]

Who brought you the Good News of Jesus?

In our story of Moses and the Hebrews the Lord revealed Himself to the people to show that He was the Lord. Exodus 16:Then Moses said to Aaron, “Announce this to the entire community of Israel: ‘Present yourselves before the Lord, for he has heard your complaining.’ ” 10 And as Aaron spoke to the whole community of Israel, they looked out toward the wilderness. There they could see the awesome glory of the Lord in the cloud. 11 Then the Lord said to Moses, 12 “I have heard the Israelites’ complaints. Now tell them, ‘In the evening you will have meat to eat, and in the morning you will have all the bread you want. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.’ ” [3]

It is God who reveals Himself to us through nature, His word, and the work of the Holy Spirit. We cannot know God without His help. God’s goal for each of us that we would place our faith in Him as our Savior. That will result in transformation now and for eternity.

God so loved us He sent his only Son as we learn in John 3:16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. [4]

Praise the Lord that we have such a wonderful loving God that He reveals Himself to us! Wow! That is God’s grace (His undeserved love).
