After God called Jeremiah as a prophet, He sent him out to warn the people. The Lord told him to prepare for action. Although most people would not listen to him, Jeremiah would become a lighthouse to the people.
Jeremiah 1:17“Get up and prepare for action. Go out and tell them everything I tell you to say. Do not be afraid of them, or I will make you look foolish in front of them.
Jeremiah would faithfully proclaim the message of God. His message was not what the people wanted to hear, but Jeremiah went forward into the spiritual battle. Jeremiah learned to rely on God’s strength and so can you! Today the Lord calls us to prepare for action and it is called the great commission.
Matthew 28:18Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Like Jeremiah, we are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ our Savior. Like Jeremiah, there will people who don’t want to hear the message of Jesus, but there will also be some that do. There will be seed that falls on rocky ground and thistles, but there will also be seed that falls on good ground. The Lord calls us to spread the seed, not to make it take root and grow. That is God’s part.
Paul writes in Romans 10:15“And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
Prepare for action!Who is the Lord calling you to share the good news of Jesus with? You can be the person God uses to change someone’s eternal destiny. What a wonderful gift eternal life is.
