The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Grief and Loss-Suffering Deep Sorrow Over the Loss of a ...

Life is a gift from God no matter its length. Our earthly life may range from a few minutes to over 100 years. But no matter the length of life here in this world, our lives are eternal in the spiritual sense. Life takes on a whole new meaning as we look at it considering eternity. Our life is a gift from our creator God; it was His idea.

Our God is the Divine Craftsman who wants each life to be unique. Psalm 139: 13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.[1]

The Gift of Life is Filled with the Unexpected

Joseph’s life was filled with many twists and turns. He was the son of Jacob and had eleven brothers. These brothers hated him and sold Joseph into slavery in Egypt. Through a miracle of God, he became second in command of the nation of Egypt.  Joseph prepared Egypt for a great drought. God used all the struggles of Joseph’s life to prepare him to save his family.

Joseph’s brothers came to buy grain and God used that situation to bring reconciliation to the family. The whole family moved to Egypt where they would grow into a nation. Joseph had not anticipated the life that God gave him. Genesis 50: 22 So Joseph and his brothers and their families continued to live in Egypt. Joseph lived to the age of 110. 23 He lived to see three generations of descendants of his son Ephraim, and he lived to see the birth of the children of Manasseh’s son Makir, whom he claimed as his own. Your Life is a Gift from the Lord

Although you may not think you are important to God, but you are. Remember the Lord is thinking about you every second.  He knows every thought, every joyful experience, and every tear you shed. In addition, the Lord sent His Son Jesus to die for your sins before you were born. Jesus’ work on the cross gives us the opportunity to spend eternity with Him when we trust Him as our Savior. The gift of eternal life is the greatest gift we will ever receive. What a great God we have!

Prayer

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. [3]

  1. David says:

My belief in God, in my savior Jesus Christ and the courting and guiding Holy Spirit brought me through my wife’s illness and passing just as it did my Mothers not long before. Today the Lord blessed me by meeting a beautiful hearted woman whose husband has had 2 strokes and is on dialisis. We discussed how hard it must be without faith. I was overwhelmed and hugged her and pray for her and her husbands health. Such kindness and devotion to behold was a gift from God to me and I hope somehow I was a blessing to her.
