The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

2 Timothy 3:16 scripture wall sticker | Divine Walls

Have you ever felt that your life needs to be transformed spiritually? How could this happen? God’s word can transform your life.  I believe, if we are honest, many of us would admit our lives need to be transformed. The good news is the Lord is in the business of transforming our life. While a sculptor may use a hammer and chisel, the Lord uses His word and the Holy Spirit to transform our lives.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. [1]

God’s People Need Transformation

The people of Judah had drifted away from the Lord to the point where they lost the written word. Although this seems unbelievable, this really happened.  2 Kings 22:Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the court secretary, “I have found the Book of the Law in the Lord’s Temple!” Then Hilkiah gave the scroll to Shaphan, and he read it.

Shaphan went to the king and reported, “Your officials have turned over the money collected at the Temple of the Lord to the workers and supervisors at the Temple.” 10 Shaphan also told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll.” So Shaphan read it to the king.

11 When the king heard what was written in the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes in despair. 12 Then he gave these orders to Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Acbor son of Micaiah, Shaphan the court secretary, and Asaiah the king’s personal adviser: 13 “Go to the Temple and speak to the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah. Inquire about the words written in this scroll that has been found. For the Lord’s great anger is burning against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words in this scroll. We have not been doing everything it says we must do.” [2]

Scripture can Transform our Lives

One of my friends several years ago attended church with His wife on Easter Sunday. He was not a person of faith and only went to satisfy her. During the worship something happened. God’s word began to sink into his heart. The Holy Spirit opened his heart to receive God’s word and he realized he needed Jesus as his Savior. He asked Jesus to forgive his sins and asked the Lord into his heart.

God’s word continued to work in his life as he turned his life over to Jesus and his life began to change for the better. He became a different person and would never be the same. This is the power of God’s word! Is God calling you today to spend time in his word? Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit as He directs your path. The Lord wants to transform you!
