I remember being in a church near Moscow, Russia and six men told of blessings of turning to the Lord. They gave their testimonies on how they came to know Jesus. Each person told how far they were from the Lord and the kind of life that they lived. They were all involved in criminal activity prior to knowing Jesus. Many told how most of their friends who were doing the same thing were already deceased.
By the grace of God each person told how someone had been praying for them for years before they came to know Jesus. God answered their prayers, and the Lord drew them to faith and their life completely changed. Now they are ambassadors for the Lord as part of a men’s choir going from church to church sharing the blessings of turning to the Lord in faith.
King Josiah Turned to God and Received Blessings
King Josiah had requested that the temple of the Lord be renovated and in the process the book of the Law was discovered. The book of the Law was the first five books of our Bible and was the complete Bible at that time.
The nation had drifted from the Lord to such a degree that they lost the book of the law. When the book was discovered, it revealed that the nation needed to make major changes because they were doing things that the Lord detested. King Josiah immediately began to make changes that were guided by the word of God. The Lord was very pleased with King Josiah and his changes.
2 Kings 23:25 Never before had there been a king like Josiah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul and strength, obeying all the laws of Moses. And there has never been a king like him since.
The Lord will Bless as You Turn to Him
Is the Lord calling you to turn to Him today? You may not be a believer in Jesus. If not, He is calling you to confess your sins to Him, ask for forgiveness and ask Him (Jesus) to be your Savior. He is there now ready to forgive you and fill you with His Holy Spirit.
If you are a believer, what is the Lord speaking to you about right now? Are there areas in your life the Lord wants you to turn over to Him? Take the step and obey the Lord and in prayer ask for His help to do what He is asking.
Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
