The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

For We Are God's Handiwork, Ephesians 2:10, Catholic ...

Have you ever meditated on the fact that “God desires to work through you?” Why would God want to work through us if He does not need our help? God does not need our help and that is a true statement. He wants to work through us because that helps us grow and mature spiritually.

The Lord created man with the goal of working through His created beings. God has a plan for our life and that plan includes Him working through us.

Ephesians 2:God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. [1]

God Desired to Work through Moses

The Israelites had cried out to God because they had been enslaved by the Egyptians and God would use Moses to free His people. Exodus 3:10 Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.” [2] The Lord would empower and send Moses as His ambassador to confront the Pharoah of Egypt to let God’s people go.

God Desires That We Depend on Him as He Works Through Us

God’s plan for our life is all about seeking the Lord and what His plan is. To seek the Lord is to depend on Him and to look to Him. To seek the Lord is to put our plan aside for His plan. The task He is giving you may seem large, but He is with you and will work through you. God does not call us forward to be mired down in the mud.

Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. [3]

As you read this you may have gotten off the trail of life, but it is not too late to turn around. Seek the Lord for His plan for your life. Let the Lord strengthen you to have the courage to carry out the plans for God has for your life. God has such amazing plans for each one of us that you will be surprised how wonderful they are. God’s plans are not easy, but they are fulfilling. His plans always build His Kingdom so other people can come into the boat of salvation.

God’s plan may seem overwhelming but take one day at a time. Remember God desires to work through you. To learn more, listen here:
