Have you ever wondered, “Does God still thwart enemy plans?” If you have, this is one of the most relevant questions of our time. God has more for you spiritually and for that to happen the Lord fights for us.
God’s Holy word tells us that He opposes and brings to a halt the plans of our enemy, satan. Without God’s protection the world would have been overrun by evil a long time ago. Psalm 33:10 The Lord frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes. 11 But the Lord’s plans stand firm forever; his intentions can never be shaken. [1] We can be thankful the Lord is always fighting for us.
The Lord Uses Elisha to Thwart the Plans of the King of Aram
The King of Aram wanted to defeat the King of Israel, but God enabled Elisha to hear their plans and warn the king.
2 Kings 6:8 When the king of Aram was at war with Israel, he would confer with his officers and say, “We will mobilize our forces at such and such a place.” 9 But immediately Elisha, the man of God, would warn the king of Israel, “Do not go near that place, for the Arameans are planning to mobilize their troops there.” 10 So the king of Israel would send word to the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he would be on the alert there. [2]
The Lord Has Great Plans for Us
Our enemy, satan, is afraid of people coming to faith and carrying out God’s will for their life. Believers put a dent into the enemy’s kingdom when they grow in faith and fulfil God’s plan for their lives.
God’s angels protect and watch over believer to enable them to fulfill their destiny. Hebrews 1:14Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation. [3] Thus, we know that God’s angels are watching over believers. How does that change your perspective?
Jesus Gives us Hope as He Thwarted Enemy Plans
John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” [4] When the world we live in seems to be upside down, remember Jesus has overcome. Satan thought he had won when Jesus died on the cross. Instead the cross was a victory for Jesus as He overcome sin, death, and the devil. In the end the devil and all of his minions will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. (Ref. Rev. 21:10-15.)
