Does God send angels to protect us? God does send His angels to protect those who will come to faith. It says in Hebrews 1:14. Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.
Each day God’s angels work to carry out their duties all around us in the invisible realm. Although we can’t see them, that does not negate their work. God knows exactly what is going on in your life and sends angels to watch over and protect you. How does that make you feel?
God Sent His angels to Protect Elisha the Prophet
Elisha’s servant was afraid when the King of Aram surrounded their house until God opened his eyes to the invisible realm. We can assume that angels were part of the invisible army that surrounded the house they were in.
2 Kings 6:16 “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.
God’s Angels Do More Than Protect Us
What else do God’s angels do? The Bible tells us they praise God. Revelation 5:12And they sang in a mighty chorus: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered— to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”
Angels come to give us messages or instruction as we see with Mary the mother of Jesus. Luke 1:28 Gabriel appeared to Mary and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!”
Angels strengthen and comfort believers as we see when the angel Michael came to Daniel. Daniel 10:18 Then the one who looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning. 19 “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!”
Finally, when our time comes to go to heaven Angels also help believers transition into eternity. Luke 16:22 “Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the heavenly banquet. Does God send angels to protect us?
