The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

When you have been touched by God's Spirit, you will know ...

God touches us with the supernatural. Do you need the supernatural touch of God? If so, get ready for what God has for you. He has more for you! There is something special that happens when people have a supernatural encounter with God.

We were at a sports stadium in Central America when a pouring rain threatened to stop the message of salvation. Our speaker prayed that God would stop the rain and after the prayer a warm wind blew over the stadium and the rain stopped. As a result, many people placed their faith in Jesus following the message of salvation because of the supernatural.

Another time, we prayed for a young woman with poor eyesight. Prior to the prayer she couldn’t read a wall clock fifteen feet away even with her glasses. After a time of prayer her eyesight dramatically improved, and she could read the small second hand of the same clock. Her faith was strengthened along with all that were present.

God cares so much for us He wants us to see and feel His power. These are just a couple examples from my life, yet God is doing this all the time throughout the world. Our Lord Jesus also wants to touch you. Think of the people who came to faith today in all parts of the world. To become a believer in Jesus is a supernatural event.

The Supernatural Touched Those Praying for Peter

Peter was imprisoned because he was preaching about Jesus. There was a very real possibility that he would be put to death by King Herod Agrippa. In response to his imprisonment the church began to cry out to God in prayer for Peter.

Acts 12:Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered. [1]

After Peter walked out of the prison, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where believers were gathered for prayer. When Rhoda answered the door, she was surprised to see Peter. When she told the others, they thought she was out of her mind. It wasn’t until Peter came into their midst that they realized God had answered their prayers.

Peter told them what happened and how an angel had come into his cell and how his chains fell off. As Peter walked out of the prison the doors opened by themselves and the guards did not wake up. Their prayers were answered in a supernatural way that was encouraging and faith building.

God Wants to Touch You with the Supernatural

Do you want a supernatural touch from the Lord today? Open your Bible and begin to mediate on God’s word. As you do God begins to do something supernatural. He begins to change the way you think. (Rom. 12:2) As we take God word into our hearts, He transforms us. If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior, humble yourself and confess your sins and ask Him into your heart. If you are a believer soak in God’s word and let Him guide you to take the next steps in growing in faith.
