The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Daily Grace, Todays Godly Reminder , Bible Quotes, Verses ...

There are few things that are as life changing as letting the Lord lead you. God has more for us, and He desires to lead us to greater things in the Kingdom, but we must follow. The Bible is filled with the stories of people who were blessed by following the Lord’s leading. Noah was led to build a great Ark and saved his family from the flood. Abraham was led by God and became the father of the nation of Israel.

Scripture also contains stories of people who could not be led and suffered the consequences. The prophet Jonah had a mission from God to preach to the people of Nineveh but did not follow the Lord’s direction.  Jonah 1:But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. [1] In God’s mercy Jonah was given a second chance to be led by the Lord and obeyed.

Paul and Silas were Easily Led by the Lord

As people we don’t always know exactly where we need to be, but we can be thankful the Lord does. When we are open to the guidance of the Holy Spirt, we have a spiritual GPS. Paul and Silas were people of great faith and were open to leading of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 16:Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas. That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” 10 So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there. Trust in the Lord’s Leading

Jesus is often called the Good Shepherd because He loves His sheep and desires the very best for them. In John we read about Jesus, the Good Shepherd. John 10: 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. [3]

As people of faith, we can trust the Lord who gave His life for us on the cross at Calvary. How about you? How would being more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit change your life? How would giving God greater permission to alter your plans be life changing? With God in control, you never know where your spiritual journey might take you, but it will always be best!
