God can use one to make a difference. He wants to work through you to make a difference. Sometimes we don’t realize all the Lord can do through those who make themselves available. Throughout the Bible we see that God can work through one person to change the world and build His kingdom.
Remember:
- Noah stepped out in faith an built the ark.
- Joseph saved his family from famine.
- Moses led Israel out of Egypt.
- Boaz let Ruth glean in his field.
- David defeated Goliath
- A woman washed Jesus’ feet with her tears and dried them with her hair.
Throughout scripture we see ordinary people empowered to love and give in extraordinary ways and this gives glory to God.
God Worked through Nehemiah to Rebuild the Walls of Jerusalem.
The walls of Jerusalem had been torn down for over 100 years and the gates burned since the city was captured by the Babylonians. When Nehemiah received the news that walls were still torn down after many years, the idea of God using him to rebuild the walls must have seemed impossible. Yet, this is what the Lord did.
Nehemiah 2:7 Nehemiah said to the king, “If it please the king, let me have letters addressed to the governors of the province west of the Euphrates River, instructing them to let me travel safely through their territories on my way to Judah. 8 And please give me a letter addressed to Asaph, the manager of the king’s forest, instructing him to give me timber. I will need it to make beams for the gates of the Temple fortress, for the city walls, and for a house for myself.” And the king granted these requests, because the gracious hand of God was on me.[1]
God Wants to Work Through You to Make a Difference
God wants to work through you because He loves you. He doesn’t need our help, but He knows when we are involved in His work it changes us. The Lord wants to work with you. He wants your life to make a difference in the world He has placed you in. He wants you to be about the good works that He planned for you long ago. God wants you to stop living for yourself and live for Him.
Take time in prayer to discover God’s plan to use you. Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. [2] To hear more about how God can use one to make a difference, listen here:
