The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

That Jesus came in God’s timing is something to ponder. God knew when the time was right to send His Son into the world. Paul gives us insight. Galatians 4:4 “When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.[1]

Many people wonder why Jesus came when He did. Why didn’t He come earlier or later? The why may be unanswerable, except that God knew it was the right time or the fullness of time. Perhaps today, you are waiting on God’s timing. You may be praying for healing, a spouse, a job, or some other significant need, and you are currently waiting on God. I want to reassure you that God hears your prayer as you cry out to Him.

Jesus Came at the Right Time to Save us From our Sin

Can you imagine how spiritually dark the world was when Jesus was born? Our enemy satan may have thought he was winning the battle, but at just the right time, Jesus entered the world. Mark 1:15 “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!” [2]

God had a plan for Jesus to bring us salvation. First, the angel Gabriel spoke to Joseph in a dream. He told Mary that she would have a son by the Holy Spirit. His name told His mission. Matthew 1:21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” [3]

Then when Jesus was thirty years old, He began His three-year ministry, which ended with His sacrifice on the cross for our sins. On the third day following Jesus’ death on the cross, He rose from the dead! On the cross, Jesus defeated sin, death, and the devil! Jesus did all of this to rescue you from your sin. Our God is a God of intervention.

In God’s Timing, He Calls us to Faith!

Praise the Lord that Jesus has called you to faith. If you are not a person of faith, you can receive Jesus as your Savior in God’s timing today. Perhaps you’ve wandered and want to renew your commitment to follow Jesus.

Prayer

Dear Lord,  I am a sinner and have done many things that don’t please you. Instead, I have lived my life for myself only: I am sorry, and I repent. Please forgive me. I believe that You died on the cross for me, to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to you. From this day forward, help me live every day for you and in a way that pleases you. I love you, Lord, and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. Amen.[4]
