The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Don’t let evil cloud God’s plan. Many people struggle with this trap from the enemy. It can be discouraging to look at everything happening and question if God is in control. As the women walked to the tomb on Resurrection Sunday, they were probably sad, quiet, and grieving over the death of Jesus. Jesus’ death probably gave them nights they did not rest well as they contemplated all that had happened.

If I had been going to the tomb that day, I would have been complaining to God. I would wonder how He could have let Jesus die. Often, our complaints to God are because we don’t understand what God is doing or blame Him for the sins of humanity.

As the women walk to the tomb, they do not complain to God but go there to honor Him. Although the tomb had a large stone in front of the opening, this did not stop them from going to Jesus’ tomb. As the Holy Spirit leads us, we don’t always understand what God is doing. From a logical perspective, going to the tomb without having a plan to remove the stone does not make sense.

God’s Plan Surprises Us

As the women go to the tomb, they are unaware of the incredible plan that God is unfolding, and they will be the first witnesses of the resurrection of Jesus. The stone in front of the tomb had been rolled away, so they went inside the tomb but could not find the body of Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two angels appeared, dressed in dazzling robes.

Luke 24:The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead![1] As the women think about what the angel said, God’s plan must have shocked them. The angel asked them to remember what Jesus told them earlier about His resurrection.

Believers Will Be in Heaven One Day

Just as the angel asked the women to remember what Jesus had told them, we, too, must remember what Jesus has told us. Amid our chaotic world, the Lord has not forgotten about us or His plans for us. As believers, God calls us to take the narrow road as part of His plan for our lives. This is not an easy road, although it is the road that leads to eternal life and fulfillment.

John 3:16For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”[2] Yes, we will endure suffering in this world and the consequences of sin, but through all of this, God is weaving His plan for our lives.

Philippians 4:8Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”[3] All believers will be in heaven one day because of their faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. This fantastic plan gives us perspective as we walk through difficult days in this lifetime, so don’t let the evil cloud God’s plan.
