The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

BELIEVING GOD’S INTERVENTION, March 17th, 2019 | CGM New York

Have you ever experienced God’s intervention? What were some ways the Lord has intervened in your life? Where do you need God’s intervention today?

As we read the Scriptures, we discover that God is a God of Intervention. Here are just a few stories you may be familiar with. God intervened and saved the life of Noah and his family. God intervened and parted the Red Sea so the Israelites could escape the army of Pharaoh. God intervened and sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. God intervened and drew the Apostle Paul to faith. If you are struggling in difficult times how does God’s ongoing intervention give you hope?

There was a young man who was in much pain and lay paralyzed. His master was a Roman Officer who knew Jesus could intervene to save his life.

Matthew 8:Jesus said, “I will come and heal him.” But the officer said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed…

13 Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour. [1] God intervened, and the servant was healed. Is anything too hard for God?

All of us need to be healed by Jesus. Yes, all. Isaiah the prophet plainly tells us that. Isaiah 53:But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. [2] Jesus took all of our sins upon himself on the cross so we could be healed. What a price Jesus had to pay to bring healing to each one of us.

Paul writes in Romans 5:8, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” [3]

Jesus did not stop intervening after the Bible was written. He doesn’t change and He still intervenes today. Jesus intervened in the life of a paralyzed servant and Jesus can break into your problems to bring wholeness and healing. Now that’s hope!
