Do you feel like you are stuck along your journey of life? If you do, you are not alone. It is easy to get stuck along our journey, but the good news is that you can let the Lord direct your path. He can help you move forward in a way you never dreamed of.
Letting the Lord direct your path is not only a step of faith, but also an adventure in the Kingdom of God. The hardest part is letting go of your desires and trusting that the Lord has a better plan. Unfortunately, many times we as humans think we have a better plan than the all-knowing God of the universe. Sometimes it is only in hindsight that we can see the divine wisdom in God’s guidance.
Naomi and Ruth Seek the Lord’s Path
Naomi and family had moved from Israel to nearby Moab during a drought. Ruth had married one of their sons. But then all the men of the family died leaving three widows. They heard there was food back in Bethlehem and started back.
Ruth 1:6 Then Naomi heard in Moab that the Lord had blessed his people in Judah by giving them good crops again. So Naomi and her daughters-in-law got ready to leave Moab to return to her homeland. 7 With her two daughters-in-law she set out from the place where she had been living, and they took the road that would lead them back to Judah. [1]
The other daughter-in-law returned to her home, but Naomi and Ruth continued to Bethlehem. The Lord used the blessing of good crops to draw Naomi back to her own people. Ruth joined her and God had an amazing plan of great blessings He would unfold.
Seeking the Lord’s Path
The first step of seeking the Lord’s path is placing your trust in Him, which is called faith. Many times, our faith may seem weak, but we can pray and ask the Lord to strengthen our faith and help us to walk by faith. When we are weak the Lord does His best work, because He wants us to depend on and seek Him.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. [2]
Go to God in prayer and ask Him to direct your path and then trust Him to unfold it. To hear more about how to let the Lord direct your path, listen here: https://podpoint.com/light-of-christ-church-podcast/seeking-the-lord-changes-my-life-ruth-part-1
