God can change what seems impossible. Ponder this for a bit. Perhaps you are in a situation where you are facing something that seems impossible to overcome. This could be a reoccurring sin, addiction, illness, a difficult relationship, or some other situation that has caused you to hit the wall. God uses these impossible situations to help us look up to Him. He is the ultimate source of help.
The Lord often does amazing work when people come to the end of themselves. A friend had an inoperable lung ailment due to a genetic problem and could hardly walk ten feet without being out of breath. A two-year-old daughter of a friend came to him and prayed a simple prayer. He was instantly healed and restored. Wow! What was impossible for man to fix was restored by God after a prayer of a toddler.
My father suffered from inoperable cancer and God walked through this impossible situation with him and healed him in heaven. The Lord uses a variety of ways of changing what is impossible to possible.
The Impossible becomes Possible
A woman who had a bleeding problem for twelve years sought out Jesus for healing. Mark 5:27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition. [1] Jesus made the impossible possible in an instant.
Prior to the healing, the woman would have had an isolated existence. She was considered unclean and shameful because of her bleeding problem. Over the twelve years of her illness, she must have prayed many times for healing. God would answer these prayers in His timing. God’s timing is always hard for any of us to understand this side of heaven.
Having Faith in the God of the Impossible
Throughout the Bible, there are stories of God changing what seems to be impossible. When we doubt God, He calls us to remember what He has done. Here are just a few examples. God parted the Red Sea and allowed the Israelites to escape the Egyptian army into safety. He provided manna and quail for 40 years for thousands of people. God shut the mouths of lions to save Daniel and Jesus fed 5000 people with a few loaves of bread and some fish.
Without God, none of these situations would have turned out the way they did. God does not change. Hebrews 13:8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.[2] So, trust God even though things don’t make complete sense to you now. Seek God sincerely in prayer. Keep hoping, keep believing, and keep persisting. There is no obstacle that is too big for God to turn around for your great good.
