The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Telling others what God has done is a powerful testimony of the Lord working in your life. In what way has the Lord worked in your life that you could share? When my mother passed away, I gave the message at the funeral. My sermon included a call to salvation at the end. With every head bowed and eyes closed, about five or six people raised their hands to receive Jesus. While people’s eyes were still closed, there was a move of the Holy Spirit from the back of the church that moved forward like a wave. It looked like a wave at a football game as over half the people there raised their hands to receive Jesus. Only the Lord could touch people in that way. I knew God was at work saving people.

The Shepherds Enjoyed Telling Others About Jesus

The night Jesus was born, an angel announced his birth, followed by a host of angels appearing and praising God. Can you imagine seeing an angel for the first time and hearing them tell you that the Messiah had been born? What a humbling and exciting experience!

Luke 2:15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. 18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished.[1] The shepherds spoke from the heart about what they experienced, and their words connected people with the Lord.

Share Your Testimony

It may surprise you that people are interested in hearing your testimony. It may be a story of how you came to faith or something significant the Lord did in your life. I remember hearing how members of the men’s choir from Moscow, Russia, came to faith. Each testimony was unique but had a common thread of God reaching someone who seemed forever lost spiritually. After coming to faith in Jesus, each person’s life changed as the Lord transformed them. Most were criminals and drug addicts until God stepped into their life.

When you hear testimonies like this, the Lord shows His mercy and grace are real, and no one is beyond His reach, for He wants salvation for all. You may not think your testimony is that significant, but you don’t know how the Lord can use you to make a difference in the life of someone. Let the Lord change the heart of the person receiving your testimony as you share from the heart.
