The good news of Jesus saves, transforms, fulfills, and leads to eternal life. This good news seems too good to be true, but it is. Our enemy, satan, hates the good news of Jesus and works to discourage and lead people into despair. The enemy lies and tells people that the meaning of life is found in the things of this world. When people buy into this lie, they head down a road of emptiness, such as King Solomon of the Old Testament.
Ecclesiastes 2:11 But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere. [1] Only the Lord can fill the empty hole in our hearts when we surrender and place our faith in Jesus as our Savior. Perhaps you have searched or are now searching for fulfillment.
The Good News of Jesus Gives Me Hope
When I have hope in life, it changes my entire mood and perspective. No matter how our lives unfold, placing our faith in Jesus gives us peace in the storms that may rage around us. As people, we need Jesus! The good news of Jesus is better than riches, power, or anything the world has to offer. It is better than the cure for any disease that afflicts humankind.
When we tell others about Jesus, they have an opportunity to believe and have eternal life. The Lord can work through you to tell them how Jesus can forgive our sins and heal the problems in their life. Everyone needs to know about the good news of Jesus. Romans 10:15And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” [2] As believers, we can all be tools in the Lord’s hands to bring the good news to others.
You Can Bring Jesus to Others
A friend heard the good news of Jesus, and it transformed his life. Although his family disowned him after that, and the next few years were difficult, the Lord was with him and began changing his life. As the Lord led him into full-time ministry, he knew what it was like to walk in darkness, and the Lord gave him the heart to reach the lost. When my friend married and had children, they would also join him in the ministry, helping bring the good news of Jesus to others.
Think of the lives that changed because of one person who shared the good news of Jesus. Since Pentecost, when God poured out the Holy Spirit on humanity, believers have had the power to change the world. Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” [3] The Lord calls us to live as people who live for Him, impacting the world around us, and with His help, we can. What a blessing we can be to others!
