The repentant thief from the cross did not have faith when he was nailed to the cross. This was his last day on earth. Through the work of the Holy Spirit and a repentant heart something changed. He said to Jesus, “Remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.”
Jesus replied, “Today you will be with me in paradise.” What happen on that day, which was his last day? The Lord met him where he was and led Him to where He wanted him to be. In this case his journey of faith was less than a day, but he did arrive at where the Lord wanted him to be…saving faith.
Why is this such an important concept? We may have messed up, taken a detour on our journey, or wasted a good part of our life on the wrong path. Guess what? The Lord is still calling you back to the path of your spiritual journey.
Take time to listen. Is the Lord calling you today? Is He calling you to take a step of faith? Is He calling you to trust Him in a deeper way? Listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling you.
