The Light of Christ Journey

Encouraging people on their journey with Christ

Sunday's Bible Verse Of The Day "Psalms 120:1" - Trust God Hub

The fact that God hears our prayers tells us that our is amazing. The Lord hears all the cries of His children, no matter how many people are praying to Him at one time. Mark 10:27Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God. [1] Hearing all the prayers of people all over the earth seems overwhelming to us, but for God it is easy. Psalm 120:1I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. [2]

God Heard the Prayers of Zechariah

The angel Gabriel brings Zechariah good news that the Lord is listening to his prayers. Luke 1:13 But the angel said, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John. [3] The Scriptures do not tell us what Zechariah’s prayers were, but only that they were heard.

This text does say that Zechariah and Elizabeth had the sadness of having no children. Now that they were past childbearing age, they may have even stopped asking for a child. No matter when the prayer was said, it was important to God, and it was heard as the angel Gabriel told Zechariah.

Will God Hear My Prayers?

God heard the prayers of Zechariah, but will God hear my prayers? Our enemy, satan, would like to make us think that God does not hear the prayers of the average person. You may be in a desperate situation and are crying out for Jesus to come into your life.

Jesus loves to respond to people’s prayers and take them out of the kingdom of darkness into his marvelous light. The Lord loves to hear from His children whether it is in praise or desperation. Psalm 18:6But in my distress I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears. [4]

God Hears and Answers

Not a single prayer slips by God, because there’s no time of day He isn’t listening to His children. God heard you ten years ago, and He heard you last week, and He hears you right now, and He’s already listening for you tomorrow. In fact, He already knows what you’re going to say. Wow! What an amazing God we serve. What is your prayer request to the Lord? Take time right now and speak to the Lord what the Holy Spirit is placing on your heart.
